Responsible Gambling
Slots are entertainment you pay for, not a way to earn money. This page covers the signs that it's turning into a problem, a few limits that help, and who to call.
Our Position
We don't run a casino, but a site full of big wins and hot slots can make gambling look easier than it is. So we try to show the whole picture: every big win on Betaro sits on top of a huge number of losing spins, and the house keeps its edge over time.
Age & Eligibility
Gambling is for adults only. You need to be 18, or older if the law where you live says so, to gamble or to sign up with any casino mentioned on Betaro. Nothing here is meant for anyone younger.
The rules on online gambling change from country to country and, in the US, from state to state. Check that it's legal where you live before you sign up or deposit anywhere, and stick to sites that are allowed to take players from your area.
Betaro is an information site. We don't take bets or offer gambling of any kind.
Important Reminders
Gambling is not a way to make money
Every slot is built to keep part of what's bet on it. A 96% RTP game keeps about $4 of every $100 over the long run, and even a 97% game takes more than it gives back.
Never chase losses
Raising your bets or playing longer to win back a loss usually just makes the loss bigger. Pick a stopping point before you start and walk away when you hit it.
Set time and money limits
Decide on a budget and a time limit first. Think of the budget like a concert ticket: money that's spent once you hand it over.
Don't gamble when emotional
Stress, a bad day, or a few drinks all make it harder to stop. If you're playing to feel better, that's a good moment to log off.
Big wins are rare
Our own data shows it. Only a small slice of logged bets pay 10x or more, and 500x hits are far rarer still. The wins you see on Betaro and on stream are the exceptions, not what a normal session looks like.
Warning Signs
If some of these sound familiar, it may be time to step back:
- You often play longer or spend more than you planned
- You've borrowed money or sold things to keep playing
- You feel on edge or irritable when you can't gamble
- You hide how much you play from people close to you
- Work, study or bills are slipping because of it
- You gamble to escape worries or a low mood
- You've tried to cut back and keep ending up where you started
Self-Exclusion Tools
Most casinos let you set deposit limits, take a cooling-off break or close your account for good. Look in your account settings for a section called something like "Responsible Gambling". If you're not sure how much you've actually lost on Stake, our P&L analyzer adds up your deposits and withdrawals in your browser and gives you the real number.
